Calgary Newborn Baby & Maternity Photography

The newest addition to the Miller family is this handsome little guy! So sweet and so tiny! I just love watching babies sleep, you wonder what they are thinking, they make such cute expressions on their faces. I had a wonderful time yesterday meeting this little guy for the first time and trying to photograph little peanut, he sure likes to wiggle. I would put him in one spot grab my camera and he would move. His mom and aunty were there to help with his photo first photo session. Yep I Got You Babe! I made mom cry when she saw the photos today, didn't want to do that! But how can you not help it when he is your first child! Yes I remember those days I used to cry too being a new mom. Well Mom Marla they grow up real quick with a mind of their own, enjoy while he is small and treasure every moment! Love Linda!

Ever notice that photographers do goofy things to make their clients smile, yea I know I am one of those photographers! I do the darnest things to get a smile sometimes, well here I am telling him that I am creeping closer to tickle him if he doesn't give me even a hint of a smile, and the top one I am telling him smile or I will come over and really tickle you for sure, but then if I did that how would I take him picture! Yea I know all talk and no action!
He was a great model and the time flew by quick, I still wanted to take them to more spots but we finished up and told him next time we will go to some more awesome spots! I want to thank his mom too for being such a good helper in lugging our gear around and keeping an eye on stuff while we were shooting and for holding the reflector for us. She did an amazing job for us.
SO THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Calgary, wedding, engagement, family photographer

On Sunday I had the opportunity to take my friend Shelley and her Model Brandon to down town Calgary and show her around some of the areas that I like to photograph in. I am not sure if Brandon is shy of the camera or not, he is a pretty serious young man. I was wondering what he thought about all this and having two photographers giving him directions as to whom to look at first. We tried to give him a relaxed session and just be himself. Well being him self is not smiling for the camera.

more engagement photos

Yea I gotta love the top image with the heart, two hearts become one pretty soon! Heather doesn't like heights a gal after me, I don't like them either, but you have to admit she looks good on James shoulders! Peak around the tree with a kiss and James the man!

Calgary Engagement Photography

Heather and James are getting married in September. We had a great day to photograph their engagement session. We spent about 3 hours just having fun that day, here are just some of their session. Hope you two like them.

So Sad

This magnificent bird was down at our lake yesterday flying around looking for food. I was in the lake photographing an engagement session and he flew by us several times. Some fishermen had just caught some fish and he was eyeing up those fish. But what is sad is, is that this bird got tangled up in some fisherman's lines and now has it strapped around its poor leg. And what also is sad is that we can't do any thing about it.

Operation Homefront

PPOC Central Branch is participating once again this year in Operation Homefront, where we will be photographing 50 families this year! It is our way of giving back to the men and women who serve to keep us safe! We will be photographing them with their families and loved ones so that they can take the photo with them to have close to their hearts while they are away serving their country! God Bless them all and keep them safe!

Three more to post

Ok, I need ten images so help me pick them! Click on the link and make some posts please!

Botanical Accreditation

So I love flowers plants & trees, attempting to put in another accreditation for PPOC Professional Photographers of Canada. So I am going to try to Botanical, here are the requirements.
Ten (10) photographs of ten (10) different types of plants, in ten (10) different settings. Botanical photography is the accurate and/or beautiful photographs of plant life in both the natural and laboratory environments. Subjects consist of flowering and non-flowering plants, native or cultivated, such as trees, shrubs, herbs, fungi, ferns, mosses and liverworts, lichens, club mosses, horsetails and algae. Parts of plants such as flowers, fruits, leaves, stems, berries may be photographed, as well as microscopic grains of pollen, spores, and the like. Each photograph must have a description on a separate sheet of what each subject is and how or why it was used, (which I think is dumb, I will have to ask the chair about that one).
So I went out photographing again yesterday and have a few more photos to upload for you to see.
